RAF Shawbury -  NMVG again provided vehicles for the annual Families Day, the event for 2008 was themed as a Village fete, and MVT members are no stranger to such. As always the vehicles provided, generate interest amongst current Service Personnel and their families.

Copthorne Barracks - the Officers Mess held a Mid Summer Dinner which was themed as 'London during the Blitz' Members of the NMVG Committee attended with K2 Ambulance, Jeep and anti-aircraft gun. The AA Gun was deployed and Guests were photographed upon arrival with the gun as a backdrop; members then entered the Mess for cocktails prior to an 'air raid' requiring them to take cover in a London Underground tube station where they were served a 40's dinner. 2009 will see NMVG assist with a similar event at another MOD location

Territorial Army   -  2008 will be the 100th Anniversary of the formation of TA as a volunteer fighting force. The TA saw significant involvement in WWI, and has seen action in many recent campaigns. Special events may be organised to mark the occasion. Some historical notes will be available on this site shortly.

Scammell EKA 66 GT 20 -   at sometime since the last Gathering, this Scammell Heavy Recovery vehicle was stolen from the Training Area. Any information regarding this incident would be welcomed by the West Mercia Constabulary at Shrewsbury Police Station, and of course the Military Authorities. There has been no further news of this vehicle.

RAF Shawbury Veterans weekend - NMVG attended the Weekend to support the vehicle display at the Station. The Veterans weekend was combined with Glider Trust open days. Those attending were privileged to see the first public display by the RNHF Fairey Swordfish, following an extensive restoration. Vulcan XH558 was also scheduled to display but had not received its Certificate of Airworthiness.

MARIE CURIE Ladies Driving Challenge - The latest local event was held on 21/9/08 at DCAE Cosford: NMVG provided vehicles for use in the  Military section. Several of the ladies had military connections and were pleased to have the opportunity of trying their hand with some hardware.
